Byron Temple was first exposed to handcrafted pottery through the ceramic pots his family used on a rural farm in Indiana. The artist spent two years working in England with ceramist Bernard Leach, who helped the artist to develop a personal style based on pots that did not sacrifice beauty for functionality.
