Hand Built, slips and glaze, 9 x 4 x 4" This body of work is made with commercial iron-bearing stoneware clay bodies. The dark brown chocolate body is from New Mexico Clay in Albuquerque, NM; the lighter brown clay body is from Starworks in Star, NC (manufactured from regional materials). Some pieces may have chick grit (crushed granite) inclusions. All work is handbuilt using 1/8” to 3/16” slabs. Surfaces are a dipped white bisque crackle slip and dipped clear or satin glaze, sometimes tinted. Pots are fired to cone 6-7 in an electric kiln (oxidation).
