Bean Finneran

Bean Finneran

Inspired by marine life, Bean Finneran is known for her works with one simple elemental form: a hand-rolled curve of clay, repeated and grouped into primary geometric constructions. Her pieces for this exhibition are also done in multiples, but the shapes are rectangular. The notion being that they serve as a platform for sushi or chocolates, or other small edibles. Following rhythms of renewal and transformation in nature, the compositions are transitory. The pieces can be disassembled and reconstructed. The process of creating has no beginning or end for the maker or the user. Bean Finneran has shown her work internationally at places like Musee Royal de Mariemont, Philadelphia Art Alliance, Perimeter Gallery, and the Braunstein/Quay Gallery.
